How accurate is the ExSeed Home Test?

Lab-grade accuracy ExSeed is independently validated through UK NEQAS, the external quality assurance programme used by NHS fertility labs.

The CE-certified test measures semen volume, sperm concentration, progressive motility and total motile sperm count using WHO-aligned concepts. Every completed test is also reviewed by ExSeed’s fertility experts for confidence and quality.

ExSeed provides meaningful insight into key sperm parameters, but it does not diagnose every possible cause of infertility. If a result causes concern or you have been experiencing fertility difficulties, speak to a healthcare professional.

Real Customers Taking a Positive First Step

Trusted by fertility experts

ExSeed combines smartphone technology, AI-supported analysis and human expert review to make sperm health easier to understand. Instead of receiving a simple pass-or-fail answer, the test user receives clear information about multiple sperm parameters, guidance on what the result means and a professional report that can be shared with a healthcare provider.

We wanted something with high accuracy and had seen this on the news. My boyfriend uses it to monitor his sperm quality, more specifically motility and used their lifestyle programme as well as vitamins they sell to improve his motility from 7% to 35% over 3 month. The customer service is great and they even responded to us during normal working hours.

This is a much cooler and stress free procedure than the one in the lab. And what is even cooler is that you actually get to see the sperms themselves and not just the report on the paper. Highly and strongly recommended!!!

My wife saw an ad online about testing sperm health - I didn't know it was really a thing. I ordered a few other tests which were sachets and dipping sticks but they weren't very clear to understand so I thought I'd buy this as it worked with my Android phone and is cheaper than other ones. I managed to do the whole test in 10 minutes and my wife and I were really happy with the results and how easy it is to use. It's definitely helped put my mind at ease.

Why Check Male Fertility Earlier?

Make The Process More Balanced

Fertility investigations can feel one-sided. Bringing male fertility into the process earlier gives both partners useful information and makes the next step feel more shared.

Get Useful Insight Sooner

ExSeed provides results in around 15 minutes, without needing to arrange a clinic appointment or send a sample away. This can provide helpful information while you decide whether further assessment is needed.

Prepare For What Comes Next

The test measures multiple sperm parameters and provides a downloadable report. If professional support is needed, you can use the result to help start a more informed conversation with a healthcare provider.

How The ExSeed Home Sperm Test Works

The test user completes the process privately at home, with step-by-step instructions in the ExSeed app. There is no laboratory sample to post and the result is available in around 15 minutes.

Collect the sample privately

Follow the preparation and collection instructions provided in the ExSeed app.

Prepare the test

Support beyond one test

How we measure sperm

The ExSeed Home Sperm Test measures the Total Motile Sperm Count.

This is the total amount of sperm cells moving forward per ejaculate. This number is one of the best predictors of male fertility. The number is made up of three measurements: volume, concentration, and motility.

Understand The Sperm Health Measures That Matter

Sperm health cannot be understood from one number alone. ExSeed measures four important semen parameters to provide a more useful picture than a basic count-only or pass-or-fail test.

Volume

The amount of semen produced. Volume contributes to the calculation of total motile sperm count.

Concentration

The number of sperm cells in each millilitre of semen.

Progressive Motility

The proportion of sperm moving forwards effectively, an important part of understanding sperm function.

Frequently asked Questions

Can I buy the ExSeed Home Test for my partner?

Yes, but we recommend deciding together whether a private home test feels like the right first step. ExSeed is designed to support a shared fertility journey while preserving the test user’s privacy and control.

How can I introduce the idea without making my partner feel blamed?

Frame testing as something you are approaching together, rather than a way to find fault. Checking both partners can create a more balanced picture and help you decide on the next step as a couple.

Does ExSeed tell us whether we can conceive?

No single sperm test can confirm whether a couple will conceive. ExSeed measures key semen parameters and provides useful insight, but it is not a complete fertility diagnosis.

What does the test measure?

ExSeed measures semen volume, sperm concentration, progressive motility and total motile sperm count.

How accurate is the test?

ExSeed has more than 95% reported diagnostic accuracy compared with advanced laboratory equipment for the parameters measured. Every completed test is also reviewed by ExSeed’s fertility experts.

Why does the kit include more than one test?

Semen parameters can vary naturally between samples. Repeating the test can help confirm an initial baseline or show how results change over time.

How quickly will we receive the result?

The result is normally available in the ExSeed app in around 15 minutes.

Does the sample need to be sent away?

No. The complete test is performed privately at home and there is no sample to post to a laboratory.

Can the result be shared with a doctor or clinic?

Yes. The test user can download a professional report and choose to share it with a healthcare provider.

What should we do if the result is lower than expected?

One result is not a verdict. Follow the guidance provided, consider repeating the test under consistent conditions and speak to a healthcare professional if you have concerns or fertility difficulties persist.

Is the packaging discreet?

Yes. ExSeed orders are delivered in discreet outer packaging without revealing the nature of the product.

Which smartphones are compatible?

ExSeed works with a wide range of supported smartphones. Check the current compatibility list before purchasing to confirm that the test user’s phone is supported.
